it's cold now;
let me tell you a story.
a story of a magical friendship.
i got to noe a guy from my friends in amk library during mid-may in 2004.
we hit it off very quickly and exchanged numbers.
from then on, we would talk a lot on the phone or sms.
it seemed like e best part of the day was talking to him.
he knew me well.
when i was hospitalized in june for dengue fever,
no one visited me, apart from my close family.
not my classmates then, not my volleyball mates, not my close friends.
i slept and woke, read a book and slept, and woke and forced myself to eat, only to vomit.
i couldn't even get down the bed and roam and explore.
becoz if i do, i would faint.
he was the only one who visited me.
he pushed me around the garden on a wheelchair and chatted with me.
he brightened up my stay at e hospital.
at least, for that day.
too bad, he had to leave for taiwan a week later.
becos i still felt dizzy after i was discharged,
i couldn't attend his farewell party.
i couldn't even see him off.
after he left,
i tried to contact him via email and with an extremely slim chance, his singtel mobile number.
no reply.
then it dawned on me that i had no way to contact tis person.
the only thing i noe is that he's studying in an institution in taipei.
i begged my friends to find him when they are in taiwan,
but they either forgot or they couldn't find him.
it was one of the greatest regret in my life.
he called today.
three years after he left,
he's back.
god knows how much i missed him.
he's the kind of soulmate that you noe he noes you.
we only communicated for one month.
yet we knew that we understand each other.
i'm meeting him later.
9 sept 2007, 4pm, library@esplanade.
i've waited three years for this day to come.
